Murray loses license

The California Attorney General Jerry Brown has succeeded in his request to have the court suspend Conrad Murray's medical license in his state. The AG's office filed a motion on behalf of the California Medical Board on February 8th calling Murray's conduct during and after Michael's death, "reprehensible" "so egregious as to shock the conscious." The motion also stated that Murray "took the life of his patient" and "showed utter disregard for the care and well-being of his patient" and that his actions "make him a danger to the public." This is what Michael's fans and Murray's medical colleagues have maintained all along. Virtually every doctor and nurse anesthetist practicing in the U.S. today knows that the standard of care was not met in this case; they want to distance themselves from his apparent negligence.

For his part, Murray's attorney, Ed Chernoff, entered a plea of not guilty and denies any wrongdoing on behalf of his client. Chernoff told the AP the filed motion was unnecessary and could have a significant negative impact on Murray's abilityto practice medicine and earn a living. Well good then!

Edit: Apparently, his license was not suspended. This is unfortunate, as I believe he did not deliver the standard of care and refuses to admit his wrongdoing in Michael's death.

Joe Jackson granted access to medical records

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff ruled that Joe Jackson can receive his son, Michael Jackson’s, medical records from the UCLA Medical Center. Joe Jackson's attorney, Brian Oxman, sought the records as part of an effort to obtain a $15,000 montly stipend for Joe from Michael's estate; Michael provided for his three children and his mother, but excluded his his father from his will. The judge will review the records first before releasing them to Oxman. Beckloff also ruled Jackson can only review records generated on or after the date of Michael's death so as to not violate doctor-patient confidentiality. Anyone granted review of the medical records will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement. Jackson and Oxman stated they are also considering filing a wrongful death lawsuit in Michael's death.

Minister Louis Farrakhan says Michael asked for help 7 days before he was killed

This is part of a long series called Michael Jackson Crucifixion posted on behalf of supporters of Minister Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam. I will be posting the complete series soon so you can make up your own mind about the NOI's role in Michael's later years and the various cries of conspiracy theories from numerous corners. In this part, Farrakhan says one of Michael's attorneys contacted him seven days before he was killed asking for help on Michael's behalf:

At 6:27 :
"But I got a call, I think 7 days before he passed away. It was from a lawyer, who's name I won't call, who said: Farrakhan, please get in touch with Michael, he is in serious trouble.
I said: what do you mean?
He said: Michael agreed to to do 10 concerts, now they've booked him for 50 and we're afraid that he won't be able to fulfil the obligation and he will be sued and this will be a way for them to take his legacy, the catalog that he owns.
I said: and what do you want me to do? He hasn't called me.
He said: but there are people close to him, that re follow us.
I said: really?
He said: Yes.
I said: well give me a few days, let me think about it. "

Joe Jackson wants to sue over deceased photos

Lawyers for Michael Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, have filed papers seeking the court's acknowledgment that Michael's family has the right to sue media outlets for publishing photos of Mr. Jackson's deceased body. Attorney Brian Oxman filed papers claiming there is a legal precedent for a family to sue for invasion of privacy when such photographs are taken or published. Shows such as Entertainment Tonight (ET) and others have repeatedly aired photographs of Mr. Jackson's body on a stretcher as it was taken into an ambulance.

Johnny Depp says he didn't base Willy Wonka on MJ

“I was inspired by him because I think he was a great artist but he was not the inspiration for Willy Wonka contrary to what most people say.”  Depp, 46, also denied he was playing Jackson in a film.
“No no no, I never ever thought of playing Michael Jackson in a film, I think if anyone should play Michael Jackson in a film it should’ve been Michael Jackson,” he said.

“A mother and a father have lost a son, siblings have lost a brother and millions of people around the world have lost someone they love,” Depp said of Jackson’s recent passing. “Children have lost a father so it’s obviously a very sad, sad moment.”

The FBI released its files on Michael Jackson

The FBI finally released its files on Michael Jackson yesterday. I read through the hundreds of pages of microfiche, standard departmental forms, and (poorly) handwritten notes immediately. The bureau redacted literally hundreds of pages and names from the files, and what was released contained no new information for those fans of Michael who followed all his cases. What the files do contain is the bureau's own conclusion that there were "collateral investigative issues NY Miami, Los Angeles divisions." In other words, investigators in local jurisdictions abused their power and overstepped their bounds in an attempt to convict Michael on charges of which he was INNOCENT.
Seven different files were included in the release. The first file details an investigation into death threats MJ received. Frank Paul Jones (his name has been redacted from the reports) first threatened to kill Pres. George H.W. Bush in 1992. He was arrested, then released. A day later, the threatened to kill Michael Jackson and commit mass murder at one of his concerts unless he got money from the singer. Reportedly, he was attempting to get the attention of Michael's sister, Janet, with whom he believed he was married.

Other reports detailed a request to perform forensic analysis of computers seized in a raid of Neverland ranch to look for child pornography and analysis of a VHS tape thought to contain child pornography (it did NOT). The analysis of the VHS tape shed absolutely no light on anything. It was merely a repetitive account of how they came to conclude it may be a 4th generation video tape. There was no real mention of what was on it. The title was salacious, but there is not even any evidence it was MJ's let alone that it contained child pornography.
The forensic computer analysis of 16--count 'em 16!--computers turned up zilch. Pedophiles notoriously love their images and video of children so....take that haters!

The most disturbing report was the one on the report of Terry George, not because of the nature of the allegations, but because anyone took him seriously at the time. Reprinting microfiche of those disgusting tabloid articles along with LaToya's horrible allegations opens up a whole new media barrage. The British paper printed those allegations of an unproven incident that publicity/money-seeker says happened 15 years before. That is not only irresponsible, it is criminal. It really proves what a huge heart and good spirit Michael had to forgive LaToya for all she did to hurt him.

Neverland raiders seized pornography from Michael's home--but it was of the garden variety Playboy and Hustler. Folks, Michael LOVED women. He was a heterosexual male who was very much in touch with his sexuality and oozed sensuality when on stage. There are countless websites devoted to his stage antics and the nature of his...human nature. That is a post for another day!

I went to see This Is It for the last time on Thursday

I went to see This Is It during the mid afternoon Thursday. There were not that many of us in the theater so I had my pick of seats. I was able to sing and do a little dancing without worrying about bothering anyone else. I was excited all day long thinking about going to the movies for one last time. I was on the edge of my seat anticipating each part as it came. The movie flew by this time, probably because I knew it would be my last time seeing it on the large screen. I felt myself becoming more and more emotional the closer we got to the finale. Tears started streaming down my face at the beginning of Man In The Mirror, then I started sobbing when Michael spread his arms at the end. I wanted to watch all the extras at the end (and I needed a minute to pull myself together), so I stayed until the house lights came on. I really couldn't even look at anyone else on my way out of the theater. Honestly, my grief felt fresh all over again. It was a bittersweet farewell on the three month anniversary of Michael's interment.

Michael Jackson's glove set a new auction record

The iconic white glove Michael Jackson wore in 1983when he premiered the moonwalk during Billie Jean at the Motown 25th Anniversary special has set the auction world ablaze. The glove was auctioned off by Julien's Auctions for US$420,000 including taxes and fees ($350,000 excluding them) this past Saturday at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City's Times Square. Hong Kong businessman Hoffman Ma won the auction on behalf of the Ponte 16 Resort Hotel in Macau.

Michael gifted the glove to Walter "Clyde" Orange of the singing group the Commodores backstage after his performance that night. Orange felt it was time to sell the piece of music history. Other Jackson items were also up for auction: the fedora Jackson wore that same night fetched $22,000 against an estimate of $2,000 and a jacket that Jackson wore on his 1989 "Bad" tour sold for $225,000 — 20 times its low estimate of $8,000.

Julien's also auctioned off memorabilia from other musicans on Saturday including items once belonging to Elvis Presley, the Beatles, and Mariah Carey, but the buzz was about Michael Jackson. His presence dominated the cafe as did two giant photos of Jackson on either side of the auction block and a huge picture of his famed glove at the center.

The New Millennial Dr. Death Returns to Work

Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor accused of killing Michael Jackson announced last night he is returning to work. The doctor is in arrears with his child support and has not worked since Jackson's death. For those of you interested in booking an appointment with the New Millennial Dr. Death you can find him at the Armstrong Medical Clinic, Acre Homes, Houston, Texas, U.S.A.

Murray has admitted to administering Propofol and various benzodiazepines at Michael Jackson's home without a pulseox monitor, a defibrillator, and other monitoring equipment as well as leaving Jackson alone while on the medication; Murray says he was only gone for a few minutes. Police investigators say he was gone for at least an hour while Jackson slipped into respiratory depression leading to an eventual cardiac arrest. Murray maintains he did not give Jackson "anything that should have killed him."

If you feel like rolling the dice on whether or not the good doctor will be taking phone calls and visiting the loo during your important medical procedures, please book an appointment now. His receptionist is standing by.
