He ain't sayin she a golddigger

Tyrese has just made the gravy train an express with no stops. Tyrese told the divorce court he has "already paid $75,000 worth of respondent's [his soon-to-be-ex wife's] professional fees and costs for a marriage which lasted less than 10 months." He also states "prior to this 10 month marriage, respondent and I entered into a prenuptial agreement which resolved all issues between us, other than those pertaining to our minor child...Ms. Gibson can and should seek employment and is lawfully employable in the United States at this time." In other words, even though he did not want her to work during their marriage, he fully expects her to seek gainful employment now that they aren't together. Court documents also reveal he spends $4000 a month on clothes, $2200 on dining out and $1900 in groceries.

Did you think the brothers were going to let LeToya hog the spotlight?

Tito Jackson spoke out to British tabloid the Daily Mirror about his niece and nephews. According to Tito, Prince Michael, Paris, and Blanket ARE his brother Michael's biological children.

“They are all his children,” Tito tells the Daily Mirror. “Blanket is Michael’s, I can tell. Those eyes don’t lie. Them eyes are Michael over again. I see a lot of Michael in him...They are all Michael’s children,” he says. “Prince looks just like my grandfather. There’s no question they are Michael’s. They are 100% his The kids are like three peas in a pod. They remind me of me and my brothers when we were growing up.”

Chef Paul and Juicy Steaks

Three 6 Mafia--which is really just DJ Paul and Juicy J now--is developing a new cooking show called "Cooking Ain't Easy." The show would follow the duo through their weekly dinner parties. The pair would cook, prepare, and serve gourmet meals to their friends and family. Oscar winners, Three 6 Mafia, and their producers are shopping the show around to cable networks. Apparently pimpin isn't the only thing that ain't easy.

Jackson Family Rehires Grace Rwaramba

Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris made her first public appearance after being unveiled at the King of Pop’s memorial service. The 11-year-old along with her brothers Prince Michael, 12, and Blanket,7,went to a Jehovah’s Witness service in Los Angeles with Jackson's oldest sister Rebbie, 59, according to a NBC News report.

Maxwell is Number 1

Maxwell officially gives new meaning to star power. The R&B crooner, who released his album Black Summer's Night last week to the open arms of his devoted fan base, has landed himself in the NUMBER 1 spot on Billboard's Top 200.

The singer took an 8 year hiatus from music making to emerge back on the R&B scene with his polished style which is the perfect compliment to his soulful dripped vocals. Black Summer's Night went on to scan very well in it's first week. The album sold 316,000 copies according to Nielson Soundscan; not bad at all for an artist that has been missing from the public's eye for sometime now.

Black Summer's Night is apart of a trilogy of albums Maxwell plans to release between now and next year. Last Wednesday (07.08), Maxwell blessed a crowd of fans with a live performance of "Bad Habits" off of the new album.

Creflo as in "Cash Flow"

TV mega-preacher Creflo Dollar, one of several high-profile ministers being accused of fleecing their flocks to finance their lavish lifestyles, is being sued by a California businessman, Devone Lawson who says the pastor stole his business idea of charging followers a monthly fee for devotional text messages.

The already very-rich Creflo and son Jeremy are raking in $50 million a year through the $4.99-per-month "Word on the Go" subscriptions, which the preacher recently hiked to $5.99, James Evangelista, Lawson’s Atlanta-based attorney, claims. “The word from the preacher ain’t cheap.”

Dollar reportedly has 30,000 congregants at his World Changer Church International in the Atlanta suburb of College Park. He also has another church in New York City and an international TV ministry. He along with other notable TV ministers are currently under investigation by the Senate Finance Committee, who contends that several televangelists, including Joyce Meyer, Benny Hinn and Dollar have unscrupulously gained wealth by skirting tax laws and soaking their congregations for millions.

Heir McNair

Steve McNair reportedly died with no Last Will and Testament, leaving his estate in a shambles. McNair's wife, Mechelle, petitioned a probate court judge for control over his estate so she could meet the day-to-day needs of herself and their two children. The judge granted her petition and gave her 60 days to give an accounting of the estate. Mechelle listed herself and their two children as heirs to the estate and omitted any mention of Steve's two sons from a previous relationship.

Chappelle Tries the "Flash Mob" Thing in Portland

Reclusive comic, Dave Chappelle, surprised downtown Portland, Oregon by performing a giant free one hour stand-up comedy event at about midnight Tuesday at Pioneer Square. The event was only rumored on Facebook and Twitter, but drew a huge crowd despite the late hour it was held(and there's nothing else to do in Portland at any time of the day).Turning on an amplifier described as "the size of a toaster," Chappelle addressed the audience, most of whom could not hear him, thanking the Portland Police for being "kind enough not to arrest me." His guerrilla comedy events seem to indicate something brewing for this comic genius.

Paris wants to do a tribute song

Michael Jackson's 11-year-old daughter, Paris, wants to record a tribute to her late father. She has told members of the Jackson family that last week's L.A. memorial inspired her to want to record something for Michael. Katherine and her aunties think it best she rest and mourn in privacy, but we all know Joe is probably salivating at the thought of getting her in a recording studio.

Richard Jefferson pulls a runaway bride

San Antonio Spur Richard Jefferson pulled the ultimate fake by having his friends show up to a wedding that never was. Jefferson's friends showed up to a posh Manhattan hotel on Saturday for his $2 million wedding. The only problem was he and his fiancee, a former Nets dancer, had broken up several days beforehand. He did spread some cash around to try and sooth everyone's feelings. He upgraded his ex's hotel room and gave his boys his black American Express card so they could eat and drink the night away.

Dr. Regina Benjamin Selected as Surgeon General

President Obama has chosen Regina Benjamin, a rural family physician who has faced hurricanes, flood and fire to care for impoverished patients along Alabama's Gulf Coast as the next Surgeon General, filling a key public health post ahead of an expected surge in the H1N1 flu next fall.

Benjamin gained fame through her public efforts to rebuild her rural health clinic after Hurricane Katrina devastated it. Benjamin has also served as the first black woman to head the State of Alabama Medical Association and was associate dean for rural health at the University of South Alabama's College of Medicine.

Obama announced his intent to nominate her at a Rose Garden event on Monday.

If you're free in the Atlanta area tonight...

Kim K. fires back at you haters

"I'm off to South Africa for Russell Simmons Diamond Empowerment Fund. DEF is a
non-profit organization that aims to empower disadvantaged people in African
nations where diamonds are a natural resource, through education. Some people
online have been judging me for my charity work with the DEF. No charity work
should ever be judged, it's just wrong. We can all do something to help!

I am so excited about the trip! Has anyone ever been?? Or is anyone from
South Africa?"
Um, yeah. Lots of people are from South Africa, but maybe that's not exactly what she meant. I think the charity is interesting. I'll try to dig up more information on it. What exactly are Kim and Reggie going to do over there?

Whitney Makes Return in London

For much of this decade Whitney Houston has been out of the spotlight, fighting to get her once charmed life back under control. But as she arrived in Britain last night it seemed the tide had finally turned for the soul singer. Gone was the gaunt and ravaged figure of recent years, replaced by a polished professional as she launched her new album at the upmarket Mandarin Oriental Hotel in London's Knightsbridge.

The record is her first studio performance for seven years. Tracks have already been leaked on the internet, where they have met with a mixed response, some saying her voice has been ruined. But music mogul Clive Davis, who discovered the soul diva 25 years ago, disagrees.'You won't forget it after you hear it,' he said on Good Morning America, calling the album a labour of love for all involved. 'She tumbled but she didn't crumble'. Her much anticipated new album (well, not so much by me), “I Look to You” is due out Sept. 1.

Common Beat Jacking (17 years ago)

Andrew Marks and London McDaniels filed a lawsuit Monday, claiming Common stole their 1978 song “When Will The Day Come” in his 1992 tune “Take it EZ" from his debut cd "Can I Borrow a Dollar?" Common does give Marks and McDaniels credit on the downloadable version of his song and openly admits the theft. However, it's not considered the appropriate authorization (which means they should also get a royalty check) and they are demanding unspecified damages for the infringement. Listen to the OG track HERE....

Tyler Perry Ain't Doing This One?

Forest Whitaker, America Ferrera, Carlos Mencia and Taye Diggs have come aboard the cast of "A Family Wedding" a movie project for Fox Searchlight. Rick Famuyiwa (Brown Sugar) is directing the project from an original screenplay.

The story follows two fathers (Whitaker and Mencia) who despite their differences, must come together to plan the wedding of their son and daughter (Diggs and Ferrera). They have less than two weeks to accomplish this.

The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

'Toine Owes $822,500 in Vegas

Las Vegas prosecutors have filed a criminal complaint against former NBA all-star Antoine Walker alleging he failed to pay back $822,500 in gambling debts at three Las Vegas casinos. According to a copy of the complaint, Walker obtained gambling markers by writing 10 separate $100,000 checks with insufficient funds primarily to Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood and Red Rock Resort. He is being charged with three felony counts.

Walker, who is attempting a return to the NBA, last played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2008 and made the all-star team three times as a member of the Boston Celtics. He was also on the Miami Heat team that won the NBA championship in 2006. Walker was a member of the national champion University of Kentucky team in 1996.

The complaint charges Walker, 32, who wants to return to the NBA, with three felony counts in passing $1 million in bad checks while taking out the markers at Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood and Red Rock Resort.

Two years ago Walker and a relative were bound at gunpoint while robbers took a car, cash and jewelry from his suburban Chicago home. Four men were later charged in the case.

Keston Karter is not gay

Model/Actor Keston Karter has released a denial of all those gay rumors flying around the net. Keston's name recently surfaced as a member of the fine MSM club after pictures allegedly showing Tyler Perry actor Terrell Carter with a male lover were leaked to the net.

“I am not homophobic, or have any issues with same gender loving
people; I am not one of them. I am not gay, nor am I bisexual. I don’t know the
singer Jeremih, nor have I ever even met him. And no disrespect to Terrell
Carter, but I don’t know him either. We were both booked to make an appearance
at that event and aside from the photo ops, we hardly interacted. So not only
are the rumors false, they are out of left field.”

Nas vs Kelis Round Two

Nas responds to e-strange-d wife Kelis' demands for financial support as she prepares to give birth to the rapper's child, insisting his monthly salary is no where near as high as the she thinks it is.

He claims to have made around $4 million on his Def Jam deal not $11 million as his ex contends, and says his income has been on a steady decline, pulling in just $147,000 a month. With expenses of around $71,000 a month, including $10,000 a month in personal effects like clothes, Nas says he's not making much.

Nas, who says he wants to be "fully involved" in the parenting of their child, claims he's agreed to pay $350 for a stroller, $450 for a baby sling, $500 for a DNA test and $1,600 for two cribs. He thinks $5,000 a month is a more reasonable request than her $80,000, and within his budget.

The former couple is due to face off in a New York court on July 21st, when a judge will rule on the case. The child is also due this month.

Don't Sweat the Technique

All the sweaty ladies

The New York Daily News is quoting an "insider" who says Beyonce has told photographers not to shoot her from behind during her "I Am …Sasha Fierce" tour because of a perspiration problem. “Beyoncé’s costumes are so tiny and her choreography is so complicated that inevitably she sweats," said the unnamed source. "It looks pretty gross, so no one is allowed to shoot her from that particular angle anymore.”

Nia Long Disses Beyonce

Nia Long, star of Love Jones and Disappearing Acts, sounded off on fake actresses in the U.K. magazine Pride.

"If you’re a singer not an actress, you should sing. If you’re a rapper, you should rap,” Nia told the magazine.
In the July issue cover story writer Jessica Huie asked Nia what she thought about Beyonce's performance in ‘Obsessed.’

“I didn’t see ‘Obsessed,’ so I can’t comment, but it’s just not about how talented you are anymore. It’s about, ‘How much box-office revenue will this person generate?’ When you see certain people – we won’t name names – they just don’t have the skill, and no one in their team has said, ‘You need acting classes,’” she replied.

Michael's O2 concerts would have begun today

Michael's fans have been staging flash mobs all over the world. I have already participated in a few. Try them! They're a lot of fun.

Why Did AEG tape MJ Concert Rehearsals?

AEG, the promoters of Michael Jackson's ill fated concert series in London, is reportedly insured for the first 22 concerts but were unable to get coverage for all 50 shows at a cost of $500 million. They also took out a $17.5 million insurance policy from Lloyd’s of London in the event a health crisis that would cause Jackson to pull out of his concert series. The promoters also will receive a multi-million dollar payout from the show’s insurers if reports linking the superstar’s passing to drugs are correct, since their policy covers death by overdose.

After they refund millions to ticket holders for the concerts, AEG has offered fans the option to have their tickets exchanged for the specially designed ticket created by Michael Jackson himself, a convenient way that AEG could recoup some of their monetary losses. Most of all, they have 100 hours of rehearsal footage, none of which was shown during the Jackson Memorial last Tuesday.

"Jacob the Jewler" Forfeits $2 Million

Jacob Arabov aka Jacob The Jeweler forfeited $2 million in illegal funds, as a part of a plea deal for a lesser prison sentence for laundering drug money. Jacob was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison last June after pleading guilty in October 2007 to falsifying records and giving false statements, in connection with a multi-state drug ring known as the Black Mafia Family (BMF). He allegedly helped launder around $270 million in drug profits for the criminal organization. Most of the drug money appropriated by authorities will remain in the Detroit area and used by law enforcement agencies.

Sonia Sotomayor the Movie?

Rosie Perez is eager to tackle the role of a lifetime by playing Sonia Sotomayor if a biopic of the Supreme Court nominee were ever to be made. Sotomayor's confimation hearings start today in Congress.

"Oh my God, I'd be so honored," the actress told the NY Daily News at screening of the documentary Shouting Fire: Stories from the Edge of Free Speech at HBO Studios. Perez would relish the challenge the role would present, playing a real person, who is still alive and able to judge the performance. There is no denying the parallels in the life stories of the Bronx-born-and-bred boricua judge, who pulled herself up from the housing projects to find wild success, and the Brooklyn-bred Perez.

Rosie, watch your back, I think there's been a J-Lo sighting.....where's Mookie?

Nancy Pelosi is trying to kill the Michael Jackson resolution

Nancy Pelosi is not backing Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee's resolution to recognize Michael Jackson as a humanitarian.

"I don't think it's necessary for us to have a resolution," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said during her weekly press conference.
"In his case, if the idea is to praise the life and work, as I assume that resolution does, then why not do that?" she said. "A resolution, I think, would open up to contrary views to -- that are not necessary at this time to be expressed in association with a resolution whose purpose is quite different."

Rep. Jackson-Lee called on her fellow lawmakers to recognize Michael Jackson as "global humanitarian and a noted leader in the fight against worldwide hunger and medical crises" and celebrate Jackson as "an accomplished contributor to the worlds of arts and entertainment, scientific advances in the treatment of HIV/AIDS, and global food security." She unveiled a framed and sealed copy of the resolution at Michael's memorial on Tuesday and vowed to bring the resolution to be debated on the House floor.

Michael Jackson is in the Guiness Book of World Records as the entertainment star who has donated the most money to humanitarian or charitable causes. For an extensive list of Michael's humanitarian efforts click here.

If you would like to beg to differ with Speaker Pelosi, you can reach her in a number of ways:

LaToya Jackson smells a conspiracy

LaToya Jackson has spoken out against what she calls a conspiracy of people around Michael who kept him doped up, unaware, and under their control. LaToya blames a network of doctors, hangers on, and handlers for murdering her brother.

In a recent interview, a weeping La Toya, 53, said, "I believe Michael was murdered, I felt that from the start. Not just one person was involved, rather it was a conspiracy of people. He was surrounded by a bad circle. Michael was a very meek, quiet, loving person. People took advantage of that. People fought to be close to him, people who weren’t always on his side...His kids made him so happy but he didn’t have any real friends. His problem was he didn’t trust people. In the end, he died a lonely man surrounded by this shadowy entourage...Less than a month ago, I said I thought Michael was going to die before the London shows because he was surrounded by people who didn’t have his best interests at heart. Michael was worth more than a billion dollars. When anyone is worth that much money, there are always greedy people around them. I said to my family a month ago, 'He’s never going to make it to London.' He was worth more dead than alive...I believe he was cut off from the real world and the drugs were a way [for his hangers-on] to get in there. They got him hooked on drugs. He was pure and clean and then drugs came back into his system. I think it shocked his system so much it killed him."

Now we all know LaToya is...special...but I think, on rare occasions, she has moments of clarity where she speaks the absolute truth. This is one of those occasions.

Possible custody deal in the Michael Jackson case

According to the Daily Mail and Time lawyers for Katherine Jackson and Debbie Rowe may have reached a custody agreement that would keep the children away from Joe Jackson. According to the deal, Katherine would retain custody of the children in accordance with Michael's will, but Debbie would have "regular access." Joe would have no access except for family gatherings.

Reportedly, Joe has been sizing up the children for their performing potential and has expressed a desire to co-parent with Katherine. 'I keep looking at Paris and she wants to do something and Blanket, he can really dance,' he said. Joe wants to share custody with his estranged wife, Katherine, insisting 'We should keep them all happy, feed 'em like they're supposed to be fed and let them get rest, plenty of sleep and grow up be strong Jacksons.'

Michael did not think Joe was the father of the year. In 1993, he told Oprah Winfrey there was "a lot of sadness" in his childhood. He said his father would tease him about his pimples and would even beat him, especially after less than perfect rehearsals. Michael claimed his father was "very hard" and that he was "frightened" of him. In contrast, he praised his mother as "wonderful" and "perfection." Michael wanted Katherine and Katherine alone to raise the children. He explicitly cut Debbie Rowe AND Joe Jackson out of his will.

Chris Brown has no career

Chris Brown has no career at the moment. Why am I still being subjected to the Slap Chop/Shamwow guy every other minute on TV?

Bill was so cool back then

Bill Clinton just earned more currency with the community

Predominantly African-American Fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma, has just inducted President Bill Clinton as an honorary member. The Fraternity reached out to Clinton because the work of his global William J. Clinton Foundation closely parallels the health, social, and environmental efforts of the fraternity.

Congressman John Lewis (D-GA), a long-time member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. responded, "I am so pleased and delighted that President Bill Clinton has accepted membership in my fraternity. As a true servant-leader it is fitting for him to join the ranks of civil rights activist and labor leader A. Philip Randolph, Atlanta businessman Herman Russell, former U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige, former NAACP Leader James Weldon Johnson and renowned scientist George Washington Carver. My heart is warmed today."

Clinton has long been cheekily hailed as "the first Black President"---a sentiment almost universally abandoned once Obama stepped onto the scene. Now he can at least say he was the first President of the United States to join a Black Greek organization.
