Out In Time For Christmas.....DJ HERO?!

The makers of Guitar Hero introduce an entirely fresh and innovative way to experience music. DJ Hero features an amazing variety of music across genres. Using an authentic turntable controller (that looks surprisingly like a Close and Play), you will spin and scratch more than 100 songs into unique mixes and become the life of the party. Get ready for a whole new phenomena in music.

Activision CFO Thomas Tippl stated that DJ Hero would be aimed at a broader audience than the Guitar Hero games primarily through the use of more contemporary music in its soundtrack. DJ Hero has been designed as a party game and to make the player "the life of the party", and has been developed with many gameplay modes to put the player "in control of the music". Check the demo out above.

My ones and twos don't look like that BS. I'll be taking that shit back to Best Buys Dec. 26th.

Breaking News: Michael Jackson to make diamonds

Michael Jackson's albums went diamond and now he is about to become diamonds. A U.S. company says it is in negotiations to turn a lock of Michael's hair singed off during his ill-fated Pepsi shoot into diamonds. The process would involve extracting carbon from the lock of hair then heating it to more than 4000 degrees Farenheit under extremely high pressure to make approximately 10 diamonds weighing at least a 1/2 carat each. Those diamonds would be the rarest and most sought-after diamonds in the world.

Note: Some of you have asked for that Pepsi footage. I refuse to post it because it is too disturbing. Television news showed the footage in an endless loop when the newly discovered tapes were released earlier this month. I prefer to remember Michael as he was in the good times, not when he was in agony.

911 Tape in Henry Louis Gates, Jr. arrest contradicts police report

The woman who called 911 after seeing Dr. Gates "break" into his own home said she saw two men, one of whom looked Hispanic. At no point did she say she saw two Black men with backpacks as indicated in Det. Crowley's police report.

Listen to the tape for yourself.

UPDATE: Lucia Whalen, the Portuguese-American caller who placed the 911 call, denies exchanging any words with the officer about the race of the men who were seen outside the house.

Asked whether she spoke to Crowley when he arrived at Gates' home, she said: "The only words I exchanged were 'I was the 911 caller,' and he said, 'Stay right there.' " The officer's police report indicates a detailed exchange in which she indicated two Black men were seen at the home. The officer later stated Whalen and other spectators seemed alarmed at Gates' behavior outside his home which lead the officer to place him under arrest for disorderly conduct.

Might I suggest, she might have been distressed to see that an emergency call she placed in good faith lead to an older disabled distinguished colleague of hers (she works at Harvard) being arrested at his own home? That is just a suggestion, mind you.

Tito blames enablers for Michael's death

Tito had a chat with Entertainment Tonight this week about his brother's passing:

"I think he was encircled by enablers. It was always a difficult situation, some people care about their job more than the person's health and wellbeing and I think that's what we experienced, some of the employers, security or whatever, were more concerned about their pay cheques than letting us check on our brother...I had no clue what was being done by his personal physician whatsoever. If he is responsible, whoever is responsible, they should be brought to justice. Michael was physically fine as far as I'm concerned, he was strong, he was in good health, he was playing and happy and everything was fine. My brother has always been a thin young man, you know, and that's just the way he was, but he was totally healthy."

Nicki Minaj Thinks Brown's Foxy

Nicki Minaj Says She Wants To Turn Foxy Brown Out
Nicki Minaj thinks Brown's pretty foxy. Foxy Brown and Nicki Minaj spoke with Forbez DVD recently and Minaj put all her toys on the table:

She's looking real succulent, real good right now. She's turning me on right now. I'm gonna put it on Foxy!

So, would you watch that concert on pay-per-view?

Snoop and Anita Baker to Duo in Studio

When it comes to making music, Snoop Dogg is known, not only for his affinity for different genres, but also his attraction to different eras. Take, for example, last year’s eccentric hit, “Sensual Seduction,” which was a nostalgic ode to the retro soul and funk sound coming out of the 70s and into the 80s. Snoop has also worked with old school R&B artists like Charlie Wilson who performed on "Signs" and The Dramatics, who appeared on "Doggy Dogg World".

Snoop will now add Anita Baker to the list of successful and respected pioneers which he has worked with. The eight-time Grammy winner and multi-platinum artist is planning to release her seventh studio album next spring, and told Billboard.com that Snoop will be featured on an adaptation of Curtis Mayfield’s “Give Me Your Love (Love Song)” from the Superfly soundtrack.

“We do it in a very contemporary way,” Baker explained, “a very grown-up way.”

In addition to praising Snoop for the growth in his music, Baker also expressed her pleasant surprise at Snoop Dogg’s relationship with his wife.“It’s lovely, who knew that Snoop is madly in love with his wife, you know?"

DEA Agents raided Dr. Conrad Murray's Vegas home yesterday

At approximately 7 o'clock Eastern yesterday, Dr. Conrad Murray's lawyer, Ed Chernoff, released this statement:

"We can verify that at approximately 8am, Officers from DEA, LAPD and various local agencies began executing a search warrant at Dr. Conrad Murray's Las Vegas home and office. The search warrant authorized investigators to look for medical records relating to Michael Jackson and all of his reported aliases. Dr Murray was present during the search of his home and assisted the officers. Investigators left Dr. Murray's home around 12 noon, seizing cell phones and a computer hard drive. As of 2pm, the search at Dr. Murray's office continues."

George Lopez Gets Late Night Show on TBS

When "Lopez Tonight" premieres in November, don't expect host George Lopez to sit behind a desk or to read from cue cards. He wants to mingle with his guests on plastic-wrapped furniture. (He was joking about the plastic. We think.)

His Monday-through-Thursday TBS late-night (11PM) show is going to be a party that won't always begin with his stand-up. Some nights a musical guest will open the show. Other nights, maybe a conversation with an actor will kick it off. What Lopez says he wants more than anything is a spontaneous party atmosphere that thrives on the energy of his guests and audience."There have been a lot of supermarkets but until Costco came around and started selling the big mayonnaise, it took it to another level," he said. "This show is gonna be bigger and badder."

Lopez said he is honored to be the first Latino to land a late-night hosting perch and is hoping that fans of his 2002-2007 ABC sitcom, "The George Lopez Show" (now in syndication), will only be one part of his new audience.

Maino goes in on "fags" in the industry

Nevermind. I hate the HTML code from Dime Wars. It only works about 30% of the time.

How about this picture of a fat K-Fed instead? And why was his jilted babymama Shar Jackson defending his ass?

"It's daddy weight!" she told Usmagazine.com at the time. "When you are a full time parent, sometimes you can't focus on you. If gaining a few pounds is your only problem, life's not too bad!"

Yeah, life's not too bad when you get enough alimony (almost $30K a month) to support you, your two kids, your girlfriends, and a couple of friends. He never has to make another horrible album again.

I can't believe he wore those "Shaq Dunk" shoes from Wal-Mart...

Derek Jeter likes 'em big

Derek Jeter likes 'em big----his homes that is. Jeter has purchased three waterfront lots in Tampa, Florida for a whopping $7,666,000 (isn't that an unlucky number?) and plans to build a 31,000 square foot mansion. His home plans include 7 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a 6 car garage, a billiard room, an entertainment room, and a room for all his trophies and memorabilia. Derek will only reside in the house during Spring Training.

Marc Ecko Low on Cash Flow

The large bronze rhinoceros statues grazing inside hip-hop clothing designer Marc Ecko's massive 275,000 square foot headquarters on West 23rd Street may soon be out of a home. The entire space, which costs more than $9 million a year and includes a half-size basketball court, is now on the market. The clock is ticking for Mr. Ecko, who is desperately trying to raise enough capital to pay off Marc Ecko Enterprises' debts. In June, Ecko sold its watch trademarks to Timex Group and subsequently unloaded its Avirex young men's brand to Kids Headquarters.

Mr. Ecko is the latest casualty of the once-booming $4 billion urban wear business. The sector is morphing away from its baggy, logo-threaded beginnings into a cleaner, more mainstream look available at stores like AĆ©ropostale and Abercrombie and Fitch. Add in the fact that the Ecko brand is not as “cool” as it once was and you have the potential for near financial disaster.

Four Friends With ATM Cards Rip Off Banks For $422,000

Armed with ATM cards and a little-known federal regulation, four old college buddies corrupted a law created to help fraud victims and used it to facilitate a tremendous fraud of their own to rip off Brooklyn banks for $422,000, prosecutors said Tuesday. The scheme was as simple as it was brazen. Authorities say the suspects opened large bank accounts, padded them with deposits and then drained the accounts themselves by making large withdrawals or debit card purchases in a short period of time in order to make it seem as if a crime had occurred. The suspects all claimed someone had stolen their ATM cards to withdraw money without their permission and demanded reimbursement from the banks, according to the indictment. After the banks reimbursed them, the defendants closed the accounts.

The four, who studied finance together at NYU, exploited a banking regulation (Regulation E of the Federal Electronic Funds Transfer Act) that requires banks to repay customers who claimed their ATM cards were lost or stolen within 10 days, Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes said.

Cameras caught defendants taking the money out, but they were almost always wearing motorcycle helmets or some other covering to protect their identities. Banks are meant to subsequently look into the validity of the claim, but in this case the defendants withdrew the reimbursed funds and closed the accounts before the banks could finish their investigations. The scheme came to light after one bank investigator called another bank and began comparing notes and databases. Among the banks ripped off between 2003 and 2008 were HSBC, where two of the suspects worked, Chase, and Signature Bank.

Eric Manganelli, 36, a lawyer; Lam Dang, 37, a financial consultant; and John Tluczek, 37; and his wife, Marzena Tluczek, 35, who both have worked for banks over the years, face multiple counts of grand larceny, falsifying business records and other charges.

Dallas Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett and his brother decided to have a "Black Olympics" and film it for posterity. Believe it or not, Martellus is college-educated. SMH

Purple Rain turned 25 yesterday

Prince's groundbreaking film Purple Rain turned 25 yesterday. Did you know Wendy and Lisa dated for 20 years? Did you know Vanity was supposed to play Prince's girlfriend in the film, but they broke up before filming started? He searched for another LSLH woman to replace her and offered the part to Jennifer Beals. Beals turned it down to focus on college, opening the door for Apollonia to rise to short-lived stardom. (Let's face it, she was no Vanity!) Did you know that before Morris Day was in the Time, he gave Prince a song for his Dirty Minds album? Really, how many people can say they "gave" a song to Prince of all people?
